Beyond the clothes, bring garden gloves, 3 liters of water, electrolytes, and high-protein snacks. Bring a waterproof bag for your camera—even if it doesn't rain, the humidity is intense.

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Uganda has the highest population of mountain gorillas. It’s more affordable than Rwanda and offers a more "authentic," rugged experience.

What is the safest country for gorilla trekking?

Both Uganda and Rwanda are very safe for tourists. The trekking areas are heavily protected by specialized tourism police and park rangers. We felt completely safe throughout the entire trip. If you have the funds, Rwanda is the safer choice.

Can we take photos?
